Click on the names listed below to read what Alarm Industry leaders are saying about Ron Davis. Can this many successful business people be wrong? Not on your life, and you won't go wrong, either, when you call Ron to discuss your next merger or acquisition move. Ralph and Susan Apa Lee and Kathleen Bernardo Bob Bonifas Patrick Egan Bart Didden Michael I. Gage Glenn Grabowski Timothy Greco, President and James Greco, CEO Gordon Harrison John Jennings Leigh Johnson Audrey R. Pierson Richard L. Sampson Ralph Sevinor Alice Walden Bud Wulforst Ralph and Susan Apa Dear Ron; Susan and I want to personally thank you for helping us sell our business. Your preliminary meetings in working with us to develop the proper description and value of the company made the sale possible. Your three point objective in approaching the market place looking for the right buyers to be happy with the purchase, the customer base to be happy with the transfer and of course the seller could not have been achieved without your knowledge and efforts.Susan and I can't thank you enough for all your hard work and energy in developing and concluding the sale of Apa Security Inc. After an extensive analysis of the market place your objective to make the seller, purchaser, and customer base happy was achieved. So thank you, we couldn't have done it without you. Lee and Kathleen Bernardo Where do we begin to express to you, in terms of an adequate way of thanking you both for the hard work, determination and perseverance you displayed in working with CentralCom, Inc. to sell our business. There are professional relationships and there are personal relationships. With you, we've forged a wonderful combination of both. I wouldn't want to omit the kindness and courtesy that Beverly imparted to us as well; and there were days when that was something we really needed. It was long and arduous process for all of us. We gave you the tools you needed to present us to other companies in a way that fostered respect and interest in the hard work we put in to create a company worth selling. You used those tools in an exemplary fashion, and we are very appreciative of all your efforts. Bob Bonifas Ron Davis’ success over the years of organizing presentations of facts, programs and strategies in a form that is easily understood has always amazed me. The assembly of the senior graybeards into a resource for the industry is not only brilliant but will be a major contribution of their combined knowledge to the industry. Patrick Egan Ron Davis was instrumental in helping me build a successful sales team during the early days at my former company, Commonwealth Security Systems. Ron is an expert in helping companies organize and focus sales efforts, while addressing the strengths and weaknesses of an individual sales force. While the industry has changed significantly, the fundamentals for a successful sales strategy remain the same and I would recommend Ron without hesitation to any company seeking a highly effective consultant or trainer to improve sales results. Bart Didden I was not surprised to see Ron Davis back in the spotlight sharing his many years of experiences in the alarm industry. Rather I was happy that Ron, along with a group of friends and industry notables, has assembled a vast wealth of practical knowledge that every alarm company can come away with some new ideas for their business, no matter where that business is. I believe that the Graybeards have more years of experience behind them to assist any CSAA member that would value an honest opinion about their operations than any other consulting group in our industry today. I will be at their seminars when they are near my town. Michael I. Gage Thank you for representing me in the recent sale of my alarm accounts. Besides connecting me with a good potential buyer, you assisted me throughout the entire purchasing process, making suggestions that helped me gain more from the sale. You continually provided the personal interaction and mediation that was most important in bringing the transaction to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. I consider you the glue that cemented the deal. Glenn Grabowski I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the way you handled our recent transaction. Your professionalism and sincerity made the whole process a rewarding experience. The people at ACA appear to be honest and I would not have met them if it were not for you. On the drive back to Massachusetts, after the closing, I glanced to my left passing the very hotel in New Have, Connecticut, where we first heard you speak. That was 20 plus years ago. Who would have known that the impression and good advice you gave us that day would once again help us now. Timothy S. Greco, President; James Greco, CEO ... your assistance in screening the multiple offers and negotiating the terms by interfacing with the bidders resulted in our receiving (and accepting) an offer which was well beyond our expectations. In our business, we always joke and say "make me an offer I can't refuse." Well, the offer made was one we couldn't refuse. Thanks to you, Ron, we consummated an agreement which met all of our goals in achieving the highest multiples possible with mutually agreeable terms with a company that is able to maintain the same standards of high quality service to our customers and conducts its business in a professional, friendly manner. We feel that all parties have won in this transaction. Our customers, our employees, the excellent company acquiring Comstar, and ourselves. We thank you again for your diligent efforts in representing our interests and would recommend you to anyone interested in understanding the value of their business for growth or capitalizing on the value and equity of their business. Gordon Harrison [Thank] you for your assistance in selling my accounts. Looking back to the first week in December, I still don't know how we closed the deal in two weeks. This must be some kind of record! I had a dealer ask me a couple of months ago why I chose your organization to broker my accounts. I told him that I have known you for over 30 years, and I knew I could count on you to make the best deal possible for our company. As you know, I too have "Gray Beard" and I told him that people our age still do what we say we are going to do. John Jennings I have always enjoyed attending Davis Marketing Group seminars. They are informative, to the point and always high energy. I have always taken away more than I gave. Leigh Johnson I have always appreciated Ron’s unique viewpoints, even going back 25 years. One of the first seminars I attended in Minneapolis, Ron stated ‘duplicate yourself’. I did and I am at my cabin in Northern Wisconsin all month (July) and all my ‘duplicates’ are working hard at Custom Alarm/CCi. Ron has the ability to see around things when we who are out there daily are looking at the wall in front of us. He brings a great perspective to the security professional. Audrey R. Pierson Making the decision to sell your business, or acquire another one, can be difficult. Once you've made it, the most important choice you can make is who will represent you in the transaction. Without qualification, that person should be Ron Davis.Ron recently represented our company in a sale that delivered everything we hoped for. From our very first meeting, we were impressed with his insight in learning exactly where we were in our business and what we wanted to achieve. He helped us define exactly what to look for in a buyer, how to present our company in the best light and what to expect after the sale. Then went out to find that buyer. He accomplished the task in very short order. Once the eventual buyer was identified, the deal was closed in only ten days! That must be a record.Run, do not walk, to Ron Davis for help in any alarm industry transaction. You will not find a more intelligent, intuitive, able professional. He took a complicated, critical transaction and made it a pleasure. We will always be grateful that we had Ron Davis on our side. Richard L.
Sampson Ron Davis, more than anyone I know, is responsible for the fact that closely held, independent alarm companies in North America have not only survived, but thrived in their competition with large national corporations. Wall Street can’t understand why large corporations attempting to consolidate this industry on a national scale just don’t seem to succeed in the U.S. as they have in other industries and in the alarm industry abroad. At the grass roots level in North America, independent dealers just seem to persistently succeed in beating the large corporations at the business of finding and satisfying customers. One answer to why this is so is Ron Davis. For more than 25 years, we have seen Mr. Davis creatively applying the best theories and practice of marketing and management to our industry and making the results available to everyone. Even those who have never met him have, nevertheless, benefited indirectly from his work when they adopted some practice they observed in another company but which actually originated with Ron. Ron’s never failing humor, energy, brilliant teaching and willingness to travel, deserve the thanks of everyone who has earned a good living in this unique calling known as the alarm business. Best wishes to everyone at Graybeards. Ralph Sevinor Ron seems to have an innate sixth sense when it comes to a futurist’s view of the electronic security and detection industry. Some sales leaders have the “gift” of writing and presenting top notch focused presentations that can be applied immediately. There is hardly any way that the “gift” may be explained or copied and I am delighted to say that of knowing Ron, I have had the highest admiration for him and the positive impression he leaves on the electronic security detection profession. Your advice, your guidance, and even your caveats were clearly conveyed with my best interest in mind. I never doubted for a moment that I was in good hands. Read the whole letter (pdf) Bud Wulforst I was an alarm technician that started my own alarm business in 1975. I struggled along being not very sophisticated about business or marketing matters, but with a strong technical background that contributed very little to business health or personal wealth. I met up with Ron Davis and Dorsie Mosher in 1978 at an NBFAA conference. That meeting changed my life! I became aware of business practices and marketing strategies that when implemented, changed the course of my business. The information I received (tapes, seminars and literature) from Davis Marketing Group provided me with the savvy to run a successful business. |
