Ron Davis keynotes annual NBFAA Conference in Las Vegas April 5, 2005, Las Vegas, NV —“One third of all independent alarm dealers are looking to sell, another third are looking to buy, and another third are not really sure — but most don’t have an exit strategy!" With that opening sentence, Ron Davis, Managing Partner of Davis Marketing Group, set the tone for the NBFAA Annual Conference held in Las Vegas this year, immediately prior to the ISC Show. Davis went on to explain that the reason so many companies have difficulty achieving their goals is that they don’t have a long term goal, nor the mechanics and steps in place that would help them to achieve whatever destination they seek. Building on his theme of “Iron Rules for Success in the Alarm Industry,” Davis went on to talk about how and why alarm dealers succeed, whereas an equal number may not only not succeed, but never understand why. As Davis sees it, it has to do with “establishing a goal, setting up the prerequisites in order to achieve that goal, and then working towards it — without deviation and without fail.” Davis went on to say that he was particularly thrilled at being asked to speak at the opening of the NBFAA Conference because, “for over twenty years, I have keynoted the Security Alliance and Security Associates conferences, and now — willingly — hand over the keys to the pre-ISC Show Conference to the NBFAA.
