| Graybeards' principals and associates conduct seminars and corporate achievement programs within the security industry, and provide extensive consulting services for organizations investigating an entrée into the industry. They are able to provide concise information and specific directions in order to help make the due diligence process less costly and time consuming. Graybeards associates from all aspects of corporate life, both within and outside of the security industry, are available on an "as needed" basis. The Graybeard Advisory Board Program is the result of years of planning. This service provides a professional approach to business planning for the small to medium size company wishing to have responsible feedback, direction and support in the implementation of their business plan. The program will accept a small number of clients throughout the United States as participants in this unique program. Based upon the highly successful SCORE (Service Core of Retired Executives), the Graybeard "Advisory Board” program is designed to provide strategic planning and industry savvy feedback from an interdisciplinary team knowledgeable about all aspects of the security industry. These, and dozens of other questions typically thought about but rarely verbalized by alarm dealers, are answered routinely at Board meetings held three times a year. A client’s first meeting is a strategic overview session, conducted by Graybeard executives. The purpose of this session is to develop a business profile of the client company along with a mutually agreed upon group of goals that could be achieved during the forthcoming year. Once the profile is developed, clients receive help in creating their business plan. This business plan which includes a strategic marketing plan along with an overall operations program, will give specific insights into such subjects as:
Once the business plan is established, the client then participates in his first Board Meeting with up to eight Advisory Board Members representing all of the disciplines in building a successful alarm company. The business plan will be submitted to Board Members ahead of the meeting, so that they have an opportunity to review proposed operations. Management would then make a presentation to the Board (just like in the real corporate world) and get criticism, praise, suggestions, real life feedback and specific recommendations for implementation. After the presentation and review (which usually lasts about two hours), management of the client company along with their DMG representative go back to implement the program. Ninety days later a second meeting is held to review progress. Six months later, an annual review and Best Practices Evaluation is held by the Advisory Board. While it is anticipated that this program will generate profits well above the program’s cost, the real focus of the program is to help management get into the habit of performing effectively and according to a plan. All have been decision makers in their respective businesses and all are considered to be knowledgeable experts in virtually every element of the security alarm industry. In addition, senior executives of DMG, including it’s managing partner, Ron Davis, will be available for most board meetings and consultations. Strategic Planning Program Another service offered by DMG is the Strategic Planning Program, offered primarily to manufacturers, distributors and potential equipment suppliers to the security industry. This program provides its clients with knowledgeable feedback as well as objective reaction to business and marketing plans by potential clients. The premise of this new program is relatively simple: Many companies looking at entrance or market penetration into the alarm industry are relatively unaware of the dynamics of the industry and frequently unknowledgeable about how to reach the independent dealer. The strategic planning service process provides client companies with research, feedback, marketing support and specific recommendations as to the implementation of programs. Unlike one time consulting services, the strategic marketing program provides ongoing support at regularly scheduled intervals to assure the greatest benefit of marketing expenditures. It is estimated that there are hundreds of manufacturers and/or potential entrants into the alarm industry that do not have an understanding of the complex subtleties that make up the North American alarm dealer community.
